For the Wager Slave Black Dogs exhibition Andy reworked and further investigated his ear-annoyance techniques by inventing another musical game to play with the audience. Members were invited to provide some personal information (in the form of a decision tree), which Abbott then transcribed with a clever-key to make a personalised sound using novel effects and cheap instruments (toy piano, kalimba, penny whistle, contact microphones etc).
The personalised sound was then added to an ongoing free form composition utilising pricey loop pedals which the participant then voluntarily endured. The whole composition was edited down the following day and sent out via Royal Mail to the participants as a limited Edition CDR. You can download a version by clicking here.
OWN AND CONTRIBUTE TO YOUR VERY OWN PERSONALISED LTD. EDITION SOUND ART PIECE
This evening as part of Wager Slave Andy Abbott will be conducting a participatory improvised sound collage exclusive to the event.
Audience members are invited to contribute to an extended composition played throughout the night, by providing some simple personal details.
The details will be transcribed to determine the musical form of your contribution (no musical knowledge, experience or skill required).
Each contribution will play a vital role in shaping the sound collage in its entirety, as the piece will be recorded in sections throughout the evening. The end product will be a limited edition CDR to be distributed to participants who contributed to the collage.
Reserve a space now and capitalise on the opportunity in its fullest. Own an auditory souvenir of a good time had and shrewd artistic investment for guaranteed future prosperity.
3 POUNDS WILL SECURE YOUR PARTICIPATION, A CD, AND MAKE A VALUABLE CONTRIBUTION TO THE STAKE FOR THIS EVENING'S DOG RACE.
