'Homeward Unbound' is a short video work by Andy documenting a performance he undertook where he travelled the distance between his current home in Saltaire, West Yorkshire and his first home in rural Tomintoul, Scotland.

The journey is part of an ongoing project investigating contingent identity, nomadism and the radicalising potential of keeping on the move. Some political philosophy would have it that in order to become agents of sustainable social change, we must first shed any remnants of an essentialist or fixed identity. But can we shake off our roots so easily?

Notes for an accompanying lecture and powerpoint presentation entitled 'Garden Nomad: Artistic Strategies for Facilitating Radical Subjectivity' can be downloaded from here.

Full quality DVD copies can be obtained by contacting Andy.
