Longton Festival of Pastimes event was part of the Longton Christmas Lights Switch On on Friday November 27th 2009. Hobbyists and local groups displayed, demonstrated and talked to passers-by about what they do in their spare time.

Thanks to City Voices Creative Writers Group, Room in The Roof, Longton Knitters, North Staffordshire Accordian Club, Knitters and Knatterers, Alan Alcock, Alan Myatt and the incredible recycled materials toy maker for their presence.

Visitors were invited to play a game of Pastime Top Trumps and add their own hobby to the Longton Pastimes Map.
