Bradford Threadfest was an annual city-wide independent music and arts festival initiated by Andy Abbott in his role as Fellow in Music for University of Bradford. The aim was to introduce students, staff and the wider public to the grassroots music and arts scene in the city, as well as hosting international touring acts. Between 2012 and 2017 acts that performed as part of Bradford Threadfest included Nissenenmondoi (Japan), Circle (Finland), Richard Bishop (USA), Richard Dawson, Ogoya Nengo and the Dodo Womens Group (Africa) and many more. Recon was a music, film and arts festival that ran across venues in Leeds and Bradford between 2013 - 2015 partnering with Lumen and Room 237.
