For the 2014 Art Licks Weekend, Ben Newman presented a new series of compositional paintings investigating form and facial expression.
Over the last few years, Ben has developed a distinct aesthetic of bold shapes, bright colours and playful characters, which has been described as ‘Bauhaus fuzzy felt’. Outside commercial illustration, his practice extends into experimental, collaborative manifestations of pattern.
Ben also produced a limited edition 3-colour A2 screen print (edition of 35) specially for the exhibition, available to purchase here.
